More than 60% of all trained journalists in the past seven years have been lost to layoffs and career changes due to low pay and no raises for the foreseeable future. Robert E. Lorton III, founder and publisher of The Frontier, will explain why and why we need journalists more than ever.

Robert E Lorton III founded The Frontier in April 2015. Lorton is also employed with Prosperity Bank as Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending and Business Development. 

Prior to his appointment at the bank, Lorton was publisher and CEO of World Publishing Co., parent company to the Tulsa World. The Tulsa World was sold to BH Media Group, a Berkshire Hathaway company, in March 2013.

Lorton began his career at the Tulsa World in 1989 as an administrative management trainee. In 1992 he was promoted to vice president of administration and operations; then president in 1998. He was named publisher and CEO in 2005.
